Heart of Christmas week 7 - Sentimental Wishes

Hello, welcome to week 7 of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. After my lovely journey home from Singapore I have another Christmas card to share with you. I love colouring in any form so as soon as I saw this stamp set, Sentimental Christmas, it was on my wish list.

For something a little different I stamped the stocking image on Basic Beige card stock. I dug out my much neglected Water Color Pencils and got to work. It's a little hard to see in this photo but I love the effect of the white pencil on any colour card stock. The other colours used were Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Garden Green, Blue and Crushed Curry.

I cut out the image with the coordinating dies. The three layers behind the image were cut using Deckled Rectangle Dies. The Basic Beige Layer was embossed with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder.

I embossed the greeting in White Embossing Powder on Cherry Cobbler card stock and then fussy cut it by hand. The final embellishment was a green twine bow.
All of the products used for  my card are available through my online store.

Now it's time to hop the the next stop in our blog hop and see what my super talented stamping friend Andrea Sargent has to share with us.

If you have any issues with the links in our hop please head to Sharon Davern's blog as she is the amazing host of our Christmas blog hops and has a complete list of tonight's participants.

Thank you for hopping by,
Rachel

Colour Creations Blog Hop week 20 - Crumb Cake Layers of Beauty

Hi stampers, I'm back from a wonderful three holiday, sailing home from Singapore.
I'm excited to be joining in for week 20 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are featuring Crumb Cake, a very neutral sand colour from the Neutrals Colour Family, that I love and use a lot.

I have used the Layers of Beauty Bundle again. This time for something different I stamped the main image twice on Crumb Cake card stock in Early Espresso ink. I used the Layers of Beauty Masks to apply the colour. For the first mask I used White Craft ink and a Sponge Dauber.

The other colours I used for the flowers are Pretty In Pink and Berry Burst (masks 2 and 3). The leaves are Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green (masks 4 and 5). The small Daisies are Daffodil Delight and Cajun Craze.

I cut out one of the images with the large die and one with the single rose die. I cut the large image in half by hand so that I could divide it top and bottom of the card.

I added some leaves in Old Olive that were cut with the Layers of Beauty dies.

The card front is a piece from the Country Woods DSP pack. There is a thin mat in Pretty In Pink behind the wood grain piece.

The greeting from the Country Birdhouse set is stamped in Crumb Cake on Pretty in Pink card stock.

I hope I have shown you a different way to use Crumb Cake card stock. This technique would also work on other medium coloured card stock like Smoky Slate and Lost Lagoon. Have a play and I would love to see what you come up with.

Now it's time to hop over to the next stop on our blog hop, which is Cathy Proctor. Cathy is also the amazing host of our Colour Creations Blog Hops and has a complete list of tonight's participants if you have any issues following along.

Thanks for visiting and I will be back next Monday with the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.

Happy stamping,
