Colour Creations Blog Hop week 6 - Basic Beige Magnolia

It's time for week 6 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. Every week we will be featuring one of the Stampin' Up! colours and this week it's time for Basic Beige which is new addition to the Stampin' Up! colour family.

Basic Beige is a stand alone colour like Basic White and Basic Black. It's a very neutral colour that can be used with just about any of the Stampin' Up! colours. For today's card I have paired it with Mossy Meadow and Lemon Lolly.

I stamped the magnolia image in Crumb Cake ink on Basic Beige card stock. I coloured the base of the petals with a Light Crumb Cake Blends Marker.

The tips of the petals are coloured with a white pencil and the leaves are coloured with Old Olive and Early Espresso pencils. The center of the magnolia is coloured with Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry pencils.

I cut the textured magnolia die from Mossy Meadow card stock and layered it behind the coloured image. The greeting is from the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder. I brayered the inside of the embossing folder with Crumb Cake ink before putting it through the Stampin Cut and Emboss Machine. I applied Versamark gently to the raised section of the word and then embossed with White Emboss Powder.

I used a piece of  Country Lace DSP as the background for the card.

I was so organised this week that I had time to decorate the inside of the card. The magnolia is stamped in Basic Beige on Basic Beige card stock and then layered again on Lemon Lolly card stock.

Make sure you take the time to hop around to all of the participating blogs tonight for lots of Basic Beige inspiration. Next stop in our blog hop is Vicki Boucher.

  10. Everything about your card is fabulous Rachel......colour palette, colouring, choice of DSP and greeting. I particularly like how you highlighted the yellow centre of the magnolia with the fine Lemon Lolly matt.
