Colour Creations Blog Hop Week 6- Balmy Blue

Welcome to week 6 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2022-2023. This week we are featuring the first of our core Stampin' Up! colours, Balmy Blue. Balmy Blue is a lovely soft baby blue colour that is in our Subtles colour family.

Although the new Annual Catalogue is still fresh I decided to dig out one of my older sets for this weeks card. I chose Hydrangea Haven as I thought Balmy Blue would be perfect for the lusciously big flower heads.

I stamped the main outline image in Basic Gray, then used the solid leaf and flower head circle to fill in the outline. I stamped the flower head first in Balmy Blue and added some Highland Heather with a Sponge Dauber. The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz.

I made my beautiful bow by layering Crinkle Seam Binding that has been coloured with a Balmy Blue Blends Marker over Glittered Organdy Ribbon and then I tied the bow. The strip around the middle is a flat piece of coloured Crinkled Seam Binding over another piece of Glittered Organdy Ribbon.
I'm very pleased a had another play with this set, I seem to concentrate too much on my new stamps and forget about the older ones that are still in the catalogue.

It's now time to continue to the next step on our Blog Hop and see what the very clever Cathy Proctor has to share with us. Cathy is also the host of our Colour Creations Blog Hop so if you have any issues following the hops please head to her blog for a complete list of tonight's participants.

Thanks for visiting and happy stamping,
Rachel

Colour Creations Blog Hop 2022-2024 In Colours - Tahitian Tide

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for the next Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. This week the blog hop features Tahitian Tide which is the last of the 2022-2024 In Colours.

I have made two cards to share with you tonight which feature Tahitian Tide.
For the first card I used the Elephant Parade Bundle.

I stamped one of the elephant images on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper and coloured with a Water Painter. This was then cut out with one of the Stylish Shapes Dies.

The balloon is cut from the 2022-2024 In Colour Glimmer Paper Pack with the Balloon Bouquet Punch.

The second card I made was a really quick and simple card. I stamped the main wave image from the Waves of Inspiration  stamp set in a combination of Tahitian Tide and Bermuda Bay ink. I used my Stamparatus so that I could stamp the image numerous times in exactly the same position.

The greeting was stamped in Tahitian Tide ink and cut out with one of the dies from the Waves Dies set. The small pieces of ribbon are White Crinkled Seam Binding coloured with a Tahitian Tide Blends Marker.

I used lots of crisp white space on both of my cards, I love the look with Tahitian Tide.

Now it's time to see what my lovely team member Theresa Gerrard has to share with us.

If you encounter any issues with the links in our blog head to Cathy Proctor's blog as she is hosting this blog hop and has a complete list of tonight's participants.

Next week we move onto the main Stampin' Up! colours, the first is Balmy Blue.

Wisteria Wishes in 3D

Wisteria Wishes is a new bundle from the 2022-2024 Annual Catalogue. I have been experimenting with the stamped images and the die cut images.

For this card I used the dies to cut out two of the flower bunches from Basic White card stock. I cut three of the leaf stems from Garden Green and Parakeet Party card stock. The twisted vine piece across the top of the white panel is cut from Soft Suede card stock.

I cut two flower stems from Basic White card stock. To add some dimension to the flowers I ran them through the Hive 3D Embossing Folder.

I used a sponge dauber with Orchid Oasis and Highland Heather ink to add some colour to the raised bits. Before I attached the flowers I added some Balmy Blue ink to the white card stock with a Blending Brush.

The leaf die cuts and twisted branch are attached across the top of the white panel.

I love the amount of texture in this card, I'm very pleased with how it turned out. The greeting, also from the Wisteria Wishes set was perfect for this card.

All of these products are from Stampin' Up! and are available through my online store or through the links below.
