Colour Creations Showcase Week 12 Coastal Cabana

It's week 12 of the Colour Creations Showcase and I have two really cute cards to share with you. Each week for the last 12 weeks we have been featuring one of the Stampin' Up! colours and we are up to Coastal Cabana. The link to the next stop on the blog hop is below my projects. You can find a full list of tonight's participants on Cathy Proctors blog, the link is at the end of this post.

For my first card I used the very cute Penguin Builder Punch and a couple of our Specialty papers. The multi coloured clouds were cut from Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Basic White card stock using one of the Basic Borders Dies.

The top section of the card and the balloon are cut from the Rainbow Glimmer Paper. I used a discontinued Balloon Punch to cut the balloon.

The black section of the penguin was cut from Black Glimmer paper. He's sooooo sparkly! His white face and tummy are cut from Basic White card stock. His feet are cut from Pumpkin Pie card stock. All of these pieces were cut with the Penguin Builder Punch.

His eyes and beak are stamped in Memento Ink and Pumpkin Pie ink.

The greeting is from the Biggest Wish stamp set and was stamped in Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay ink.

The second card is one that I made for my oldest son's 22nd birthday. Unfortunately it was his second birthday in lockdown. He has decided not try and organise any more parties until his 30th birthday, hopefully the situation will have improved by then! :)

I cut angled strips of Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green card stock and added a strip of Black Glimmer paper to one side. I then layered the pieces to the front of a Basic Black card base.

The Happy Birthday was cut with a die from the Birthday Chick Dies. The 22 was cut using the Playful Alphabet and the sparkly swirl was cut using one of the Seasonal Swirls Dies.

The next stop on our blog hop is back to the start to the lovely Sharon Davern.

If you have any problems following the blog hop head to Cathy's blog for a complete list of tonight's participants.

All of the products used to make these cards are listed below along with links to my online store. Please contact me with any questions.

Happy stamping,
Rachel

Rainbow Party Puffins

These Puffins are soooo cute. I have combined them with some Rainbow Glimmer Paper to make this sparkly birthday card.

The puffins and the fish were stamped in Memento ink on Basic White cardstock and then coloured with Blends Markers. These images were then fussy cut.

The cake was stamped directly onto a Scalloped Rectangle and again coloured with Blends Markers.

The greeting is also from the Party Puffins stamp set and was stamped on Granny Apple Green card stock. The Scalloped Rectangle was mounted on a Rainbow Glimmer card front. When I was cutting the Rainbow Glimmer Paper I made sure I maximised the amount of green and blue so that it coordinated with the coloured images. The card base is Basic White Thick card stock

Happy stamping,

Rachel

Happy Australia Day! and a flock of Chicks.

Hello stampers. On a very wet and chilly Australia Day in Melbourne I have the first of a whole flock of chick cards to share with you.

These cards all use the Hey Birthday Chick and Hey Chick bundles. Yes that's correct, the Hey Chick stamp set from Sale-a-bration in 2017 is back! And this time there are coordinating dies to go with the stamp set.

The Hey Birthday Chick is available now in the Jan to June Mini Catalogue and the Hey Chick Bundle is available from the 2nd of February. The stamp sets and dies are also available separately.

These cards both use the Hey Birthday Chick Bundle.
I stamped both chick images in Memento Black ink and then coloured with Blends Markers. The colours I used are listed below.

I cut out the images with the coordinating dies. The white background piece was cut using one of the Ornate Layered Dies.

Behind the chicks I used a Blender Brush to apply a small amount of Balmy Blue ink.

The greeting for this card and the second one were both cut using one of the dies that comes in the Hey Birthday Chick dies. It was cut from Magenta Madness card stock. The background paper is a piece from the In Good Taste DSP pack. The card base is Magenta Madness.

For the second card I used the same layout with the die cut from Ornate Layers Dies and used the Blends Brush again to add a little Balmy Blue behind the chick.

Again the background paper is from the In Good Taste DSP, The Happy Birthday as cut from Rainbow Glimmer paper and the card base is thick white card stock.

I hope you like my chicks, I'll be back tomorrow with a few more.

Happy stamping,
Rachel
