Colour Creations Blog Hop week 45 - Shaded Spruce

Welcome to week 45 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. Every week we have been featuring one of the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order. For week 45 we are featuring Shaded Spruce, a dark, rich green from the Regals Colour Family.

Usually I use Shaded Spruce for trees and foliage, and I guess seaweed is still foliage but under water. I used the A Wish and A Fish stamp set and punch for this week's card.

I stamped the seaweed in Shaded Spruce and also Parakeet Party ink. As I wanted the Shaded Spruce images to be in the background I cut a mask of the seaweed image, stamped the Parakeet Party images, then masked them before stamping the Shaded Spruce images.

The fishies were stamped in Stazon Ink on Silver Foil Paper and punched out using the matching punch.

To colour the background I used a Blending Brush and Tahitian Tide Ink. I added some water drops with a Water Painter and some splatter from a Wink of Stella Pen for added sparkle.
I also made another quick card using the Regency Park DSP and the Basic Borders Dies

The flowers are stamped in Bashful Blue and again punched out with the co ordinating punch.

All of the products used to make these cards are available from my Stampin' Up! online store.

Now it's time to see what my very talented team member Kate Morgan has to share with you. Prepare to be amazed!

If you have any problems with the links in the blog hop please head to Cathy Proctor's blog for a complete list of tonight's participants.

Come back next week when we will be featuring Smoky Slate, a lovely soft gray in the Neutrals family. We only have three more weeks to go until we have finished the current range of Stampin' Up! colours. This means it's almost time for the new Annual Catalogue, yay! Exciting times to come and more new colours to feature.

Thanks for visiting,
Rachel

Colour Creations week 20 Granny Apple Green

Welcome to week 20 of the Colour Creations Showcase. This week the Art With Heat Team are featuring Granny Apple Green, which belongs in our Brights family of colours.

This week I thought a bright, funky green needed to feature on a bright, funky card. I have paired Granny Apple Green with Poppy Parade and Basic Black. I know that this colour scheme is a bit different for traditional Christmas colours but I thought it suited the colour.

I used the Pine Tree Punch to cut one tree from a sheet of Granny Apple Green from the 6"x6" Brights DSP Pack, another from one of the sheets from the Pattern Play Hostess DSP and the third is also from the Pattern Play DSP but I have used a Blending Brush and Granny Apple Green ink to colour one of the black and white patterns, as shown below.

The strip across the center of the card is a piece of Poppy Parade DSP, also from the 6"x6" Brights DSP Pack.
The border either side is Black Glitter Paper using the Basic Borders Dies.

I also used the Black Glitter Paper to cut 3 small stars using the Christmas Tree Dies to go on the top of the Christmas Trees.

The greeting is from the Peaceful Deer stamp set and has been heat embossed in White Embossing Powder on Basic Black card stock.

What do you think? Is it still Christmassy enough?
Definitely not my usual colours but it's good to step outside your usual box sometimes.

For more Granny Apple Green inspiration it's time to head over to see what the very talented Theresa Gerrard has to share with us.

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, CatherineProctor, and she will have the list of all participants.

Colour Creations Showcase Week 18 Garden Green

Hello fellow stampers. It's time for week 18 of the Colour Creations Showcase with my friends from the Art With Heart Team. Every week we have been featuring on of the beautiful Stampin' Up! colours. This week we are featuring Garden Green, one of our many greens from the Regals Colour Family. Garden Green is usually a colour that I keep for Christmas creations, but the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP from the annual catalogue has changed my thinking.

I used my trusty paper snips to fussy cut three of the images from the DSP. I actually have two sets of snips, I keep one pair for cutting paper only and the other ones for all of my other cutting.

I made the background by cutting a mask using one of the Basic Border Dies, in the cloud shape. I used a Blending Brush and applied Balmy Blue over the mask across the top of the background piece.

The frame around the plants was cut from a piece of In Good Taste DSP using two of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

The card base is Garden Green card stock.

For more Garden Green inspiration it's time to head to Rosa Leyden's blog for the next step in our blog hop.

If you lose your way in our blog hop or find a broken link head to Tina's blog for a complete list of tonight's participants.

Thanks for visiting,
Happy stamping,
Rachel
