Colour Creations Blog Hop week 8 Balmy Blue Snowflakes

Hello stampers, welcome to week 8 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are featuring Balmy Blue, a lovely soft, pale blue.

When I was deciding about this week's project I thought that Balmy Blue was well suited to a frosty snowflakes card. Most of our current Christmas sets are only available in our online store. Check them out here. For this card I used the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set.

The largest snowflakes are stamped in Balmy Blue, the middle size are white embossed and the smallest are silver embossed.

I used a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink to add shading to the top left corner and the bottom right corner.

To add some extra sparkle to my Christmas card I used a strip of White Glimmer Paper across the top of the greeting. I love this greeting set, I was very excited that it was staying in our online store. Christmas is stamped in Balmy Blue and the Merry is embossed in silver.

I placed a Silver Foil mat behind the card front before it was adhered to the Balmy Blue card base. The final bit of sparkle on the card was some Rhinestone Jewels added to the centre of some of the snowflakes.

All of the products used here are available in my Online Store.

Please contact me with any questions, I'm always happy to chat about stamps and Stampin' Up!

Now it's time to hop over to the next stop in our Blog Hop, which belongs to my lovely stamping friend Kathryn Ruddick. Please make sure to see what all of the participants have to share for lots of Balmy Blue inspiration.

If you have any issues with the links in our hop please head to Cathy Proctor's blog as she is the fabulous host of our hops and has a complete list of tonight's participants.

Be sure to come back next week for Basic Gray inspiration.
Thanks for visiting,
Rachel

Colour Creations Blog Hop week 36 Pool Party - Waves of the Ocean

Welcome to week 36 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop. If you haven't joined us before each week the Art With Heart Team are featuring one of the beautiful Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order. This week it's time to highlight Pool Party, which is a lovely soft blue/green colour from the Subtles colour family.

Pool Party was the perfect colour to experiment with a new early release bundle from the 2022-2023 Catalogue, Waves of Inspiration Bundle. This bundle will be available to customers from the 1st of March, but one of the perks of being demonstrator is that we get to play with new products earlier.

I started with Pool Party card stock and stamped the main wave image in Versamark ink. Instead of using just one colour of Embossing Powder I used a combination of White and Clear Embossing on this image. I wanted to make sure that the white embossing powder was on the tip of the wave to highlight what should be white water, the remainder was patches of clear and white embossing powder.

After heating the embossing powder I used a Blending Brush to add Pool Party and Bermuda Bay ink over the wave image.

The clouds and the greeting panel are all dies in the Waves Dies set and were cut from Basic White card stock.

The ribbon under the greeting panel is the Pool Party Sheer Ribbon. The image was mounted on Bermuda Bay and the card base is Thick Basic White card stock.

It's now time to have a peek at what the very talented Rosa Leyden has to share with us. I'm looking forward to seeing her beautiful Pool Party project. Click on her name or on the graphic below.

If you have any issues with the links n this hop head to Cathy Proctor's blog as she is the host of these blog hops and has a complete list of tonight's participants.

I have great news to share with you! Due supply issues with some of the Sale-a-bration rewards Stampin' Up! has extended the finish of the promotion until the 16th of March. Place your orders before then to take advantage of FREE Sale-a-bration rewards.

Thanks for visiting and happy stamping,
Rachel

Elegant Biggest Wish

I'm excited to share this card with you. I have used the Biggest Wish stamp set and one of the sheets from the Simply Elegant Specialty DSP.

Once I got my Stamparatus set up this card was very straight forward. Thanks to the clever designers at Stampin' Up! who ensured the height of the block letters was perfect for the hinged steps of the Stamparatus.

I stamped the HAPPY in Versamark three times then heat embossed in Silver embossing powder. I stamped the other two HAPPYs in Basic Gray. Making sure the Basic Gray ink was completely dry I then stamped the birthday in Gold emboss powder.

I cut a couple of strips of the retro DSP from Simply Elegant and attached either side of the Basic Gray card base. I did sneak a couple of thin strips of Silver Foil either side of the center panel.

I'm loving this card and the stamp set, I think I'll experiment with the same layout using different colours and papers. All of the products I have used to make this card are listed below and are available on my website.

We will be making this card at my Heat Embossing Class on the 28th of May.
