I'm back with week 43 of the Colour Creations blog hop. This week we are featuring another of our Neutrals colours, Smoky Slate. Smoky Slate is a lovely soft gray that is a perfect partner for just about every other Stampin' Up! colour, although I had not considered using it with gold until I saw the beautiful Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP. I made three cards all using Smoky Slate and the Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP.
For the first and second cards I used the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder. Using this embossing folder I cut and embossed a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock at the same time. I used the heart piece for the first card.
I gently applied some Versamark ink to the raised pattern on the heart and then applied Gold Emboss Powder and set with the Heat Tool.
The right side of the card front is another piece of Smoky Slate cardstock embossed with one of the Stripes and Splatters 3D Embossing Folders.
The leaf and flower sprigs behind the heart were punched using the Bough Punch and Vellum Card stock and Gold Foil Paper.
The second card uses the remainder of the embossed piece from the first card. The DSP behind the heart window is from the Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP.
Again I used the Bough Punch to create the foliage behind the heart. The small heart is also part f the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder and was cut from Gold Foil. The tiny butterflies are Brushed Brass Butterflies from the Jan to June Mini Catalogue.
The final card uses another piece of the Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP that has been layered behind a piece of Vellum card stock.
The greeting is from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set and was heat embossed in Gold Embossing Powder.
And a few more Brushed Brass Butterflies, they are so sweet.
All of the products I have used for these cards are listed below and are available through my online store.
Now it's time to head to the blog belonging to my dear friend Tina Gillespie to see beautiful creations she has to share with us tonight.
If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop, Cathy Proctor, and she will have the list of all participants.
