Colour Creations Blog Hop week 46 - Smoky Slate Love Cats

Welcome to week 46 of the Colour Creation Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. Each week we have been featuring one of the wonderful Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order. This week we are featuring Smoky Slate, a soft, delicate gray from our Neutrals family.

For my Smoky Slate card I chose the Love Cats stamp set from the Jan to April Mini catalogue.

I used my Stamparatus to stamp the cat image so that I could stamp several times in the same position. I stamped numerous times with Smoky Slate ink and then a couple of times after adding Basic Gray shading.

The short brick wall is Smoky Slate card stock embossed with the Brick and Mortar embossing folder. I highlighted the pattern by sponging Smoky Slate over the embossing.

I cut a scalloped rectangle using one of the Scalloped Contour Dies from Petal Pink card stock. The tiny hearts are cut from Rose Gold metallic Specialty paper and the Conversation Bubble dies.

The background DSP is a piece from the Abigail Rose DSP pack, which is in the Stampin' Up! annual catalogue.
The greeting is from my favourite greeting set, Go To Greetings and was heat embossed in White Embossing Powder on Smoky Slate card stock. The greeting was cut using a Stylish Shape die.
All of the products used to make this card are available from my online Stampin' Up! store. Please contact me with any questions.

Now it's time to be amazed and see what my talented team member Caroline Manwaring has to share with us.

Colour Creations Blog Hop week 45 - Shaded Spruce

Welcome to week 45 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. Every week we have been featuring one of the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order. For week 45 we are featuring Shaded Spruce, a dark, rich green from the Regals Colour Family.

Usually I use Shaded Spruce for trees and foliage, and I guess seaweed is still foliage but under water. I used the A Wish and A Fish stamp set and punch for this week's card.

I stamped the seaweed in Shaded Spruce and also Parakeet Party ink. As I wanted the Shaded Spruce images to be in the background I cut a mask of the seaweed image, stamped the Parakeet Party images, then masked them before stamping the Shaded Spruce images.

The fishies were stamped in Stazon Ink on Silver Foil Paper and punched out using the matching punch.

To colour the background I used a Blending Brush and Tahitian Tide Ink. I added some water drops with a Water Painter and some splatter from a Wink of Stella Pen for added sparkle.
I also made another quick card using the Regency Park DSP and the Basic Borders Dies

The flowers are stamped in Bashful Blue and again punched out with the co ordinating punch.

All of the products used to make these cards are available from my Stampin' Up! online store.

Now it's time to see what my very talented team member Kate Morgan has to share with you. Prepare to be amazed!

If you have any problems with the links in the blog hop please head to Cathy Proctor's blog for a complete list of tonight's participants.

Come back next week when we will be featuring Smoky Slate, a lovely soft gray in the Neutrals family. We only have three more weeks to go until we have finished the current range of Stampin' Up! colours. This means it's almost time for the new Annual Catalogue, yay! Exciting times to come and more new colours to feature.

Thanks for visiting,
Rachel

Colour Creation Blog Hop week 44 - Sahara Sand Floating Cards

Hi stampers, it's time for week 44 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. Every week we have been featuring one of the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order. This week we are featuring Sahara Sand, a sandy, beige colour from the Neutrals Colour Family.

For tonight's projects I have used Sahara Sand as the base for two Floating Cards.
The first card uses the Brewed For You Bundle.
I stamped all of the glasses images on Basic White card stock.

The images for the front of the card were cut out with the Brewed For You Dies and for inside the card the images were cut using square Stylish Shapes Dies.

For the second card I used the By The Bay Specialty DSP for the front. The shell on the front is from the Seashells Dies and Embossing  Folder. I used the Gilded Leafing Embellishment to add texture and sparkle to the shell. The leaf sprig behind the shell is Distressed Gold Paper embossed and cut with the Seashells Embossing Folder and Dies.

The leaf sprig behind the shell is Distressed Gold Paper embossed and cut with the Seashells Embossing Folder and Dies.
Inside the card I heat embossed a couple of shells in Gold Embossing Powder and stamped the greetings in Sahara Sand.

As the Brewed For You card did not stay closed I mounted the center shell on the second card on a band around the card instead of attaching it to the front of the card. I just realised that neither of these cards has a greeting on the front, oh well, easily added when I have someone to sent them to.

Two very different cards with the same base colour, shows what a versatile neutral Sahara Sand is.  I probable don't use this colour as much as I should, Crumb Cake is my usual go to neutral.

All of the products used to make these cards are available though me online Stampin' Up! website.

It's time to head to the next stop on our blog hop. I am looking forward to seeing what my very talented team member Tina Gillespie has to share with us.
If you have any issues with any of the links on this blog hop please head to Cathy Proctor's blog as she is the wonderful host of our blog hop and has a complete list of tonight's participants.

Next we'll be back featuring Shaded Spruce. Only a few weeks left of this year's Catalogue blog hop as the new catalogue starts on the 2nd of May. Very exciting!

See you next week.
Happy stamping,
Rachel
