To change the background colour of the paper I appiled Memento Black ink with a Sponge Brayer.
It took quite a few applications, but i think the result was worthwhile. It needs to be a waterbased ink like Memento, so that the ink does not stick to or cover the foiled pattern.
I paired the Tangerine Tango paper with one of the new In Colours Lemon Lime Twist and a curl of the beautiful Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon. The greeting is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.
The inside of the card is stamped with the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set, in Lemon Lime Twist and Tangerine Tango.

There's no way I'd have ever thought to brayer the card Rachel, but my goodness it has a dramatic effect!
ReplyDeleteYour card is fantastic! I'm a big fan of the sponge brayers, so I'll have to give this a go when I get the DSP.
ReplyDeleteWow! Rachel your card is stunning. I would never have thought to brayer the card either but it sure is dramatic against the lemon lime twist.
ReplyDeleteMon xx
How clever is that Rachel! Card looks fantastic, and what a great idea to use the birthday die and Foil Frenzy DSP together. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI would never have thought to go black and brayer, such a fantastic effect!
ReplyDeleteHow Clever are you Rachel?! There is no way I would have thought to do that. That's why I love blog hops, you get to see so many different uses for our products. Well done and I love that DSP, it's next on my list of "must have"! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, I would never have brayered those stunning papers, let alone with black ink, but it is stunning! Think I will have to add those papers to my next order now.
ReplyDeleteLove this technique, and the gorgeous, dramatic, result. Great card, Rach.
