Heart of Christmas - Week 18

Do you realise there are only 13 more Wednesdays until Christmas? OMG surely not, you say. Here's some more Christmas inspiration to get those cards done in time. Today's cards use the Merry Patterns stamp set, which is a special Hostess only reward when your party or workshop reaches $450 or over. Here is the complete set,

I have stamped the main images in Real Red on Whisper White card stock.
The background paper is from the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper.
The ovals are cut from the Stitched Shapes Dies and Layered Ovals dies.
The greetings are stamped on Basic Black in Versamark, then heat embossed with White emboss powder.
There are many more Christmas projects from the team for you to look at over on Claire's blog.
Happy Stampin,

Art With Heart Blog Hop - Fancy Fold Cards

Welcome to another Art with Heart Team blog hop where we are focusing on fancy folds. You will find loads of creative inspiration tonight, showcasing different folding techniques and projects. Don't be afraid of trying some Fancy Fold cards; they may look intimidating, but in fact, they are not that difficult to create.

Fancy Fold cards are always a hit with my customers and class attendees.
I first saw the fold I'm using today on Pinterest, by Ellen Woodbridge. She didn't have a name for this fold so I'm calling it a Vertical Z Fold card.

I did two versions of this card and I love both of them. One masculine and one feminine.

The card base is an A4 sheet cut in half lengthways, which measures 29.8cm X 10.5cm.
This is then scored at 7.4 cm and 14.8 cm on the long side.

The stand on the back of the card measures 10.5cm X 10cm, and is scored at 7.4cm on the short side.

The stand is attached with tape or Tombow glue on the small section of the stand.
It is attached to back of the large section of the card with the base lined up with the 14.8cm score line.

The masculine card features the stamp set High Tide, which is my go to for masculine cards at the moment.

The card base is Soft Sky. The front sand dunes and the small island are Crumb Cake, stamped with the grass stamp on Old Olive and Tranquil Tide.
The lighthouse is stamped in Real Red and Basic Gray on Soft Sky the cut out and mounted on Dimensionals.
All of the waves are stamped in Dapper Denim. The ones in the foreground are stamped on Whisper White then attached before the sand dunes, in the background they are directly on the card base.
The birds are in Smoky Slate and the greeting in Basic Gray.
This greeting is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.
The chair is cut from Wood Textures DSP, with the die from the Seasonal Layers set.

This shows the full length of the card.

The orchid card uses the set Climbing Orchid and the matching dies. You receive a 10% discount if you purchase the stamp set and dies together as a bundle.

There was lots of stamping and die cutting involved in this card, but I love the final effect.
The card base for this card is Thick Whisper White cardstock, with Soft Sky on top.
All of the Soft Sky pieces were stamped with the Watercolour Wash background stamp in Soft Sky.

I then stamped and cut two each of the large and small three piece orchids and an additional two small complete orchids, giving me a total of six orchids. The ink used was Rose Red on So Saffron cardstock. I also stamped and cut two buds. The staimen of the 2 large and 2 small individual piece orchids were stamped in Versamark and embossed in White Embossing powder.
The stems and the greetings were stamped onto the Soft Sky pieces in Early Espresso before the orchids were attached.
Six leaves stamped in Old Olive, on Old Olive complete this card.
The Art with Heart Team have more amazing Fancy Fold cards to share with you.

Heart of Christmas - Week 16

Welcome to another Wednesday of Christmas Inspiration from the Art with Heart Team.

I made today's projects with the Hostess set Seasons of Whimsy, from the Holiday Catalogue.

This set is only available with Stampin Rewards, which are your free rewards to spend when your party or order is over $250.
I thought the whimsicalness of this set spoke to me of non traditional Christmas colour schemes.
This ornaments in the first card have been embossed in Copper Embossing Powder and coloured with an Aquapainter in Rich Razzleberry.

The greeting was also embossed with Copper Embossing Powder, but on Rich Razzleberry cardstock.

This photo shows the beautiful shine from the Copper Embossing. I have used a small piece of Copper Trim that has been teased apart, under the greeting.

More non traditional Christmas colours on my next project. The single bauble is stamped on Shimmery White cardstock. I'm loving this paper for detailed colouring, it's quite a bit thicker than Whisper White cardstock and therefore much more stable for watercolouring on. It also has a wonderful shimmer to it. The bauble is coloured using Lemon Lime Twist, Tempting Turquise, Berry Bliss and Flirty Flamingo. The DSP is from the InColour 12 x 12 stack and is Lemon Lime Twist. The scalloped circle under the bauble is Tempting Turquise. The ribbon is Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding, and the star is an In Colour Acrylic Glitter shape. The small heart is from the Hearts and Stars Wooden Embelishments.

It's very hard to see, but this shows the shimmer on the Shimmery White cardstock.

This is my favourite card for this post. The beautiful soft colours of Sweet Sugarplum, Whisteria Wonder and Soft Sky make this a soft, sweet card. The images are stamped in Stazon and coloured by Aquapainter. Once dry, I coloured over some of the patterns on the baubles for extra details.

These areas were then coloured with the Wink of Stella Pen, to add sparkle. The leaves across the top of the card are punched from Dazzling Diamond Glimmer paper with the new leaf punch.

Inside of the card.

For the final card today I reverted to traditional Christmas colours of Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Lemon Lime Twist. Ornaments again stamped in Stazon and coloured with an Aquapainter. Leaves in Old Olive from the leaf Punch, and the greeting in White Emboss Powder on Old Olive cardstock.

This card is one of the cards we will be completing at my Kids Christmas Class, in the school holidays.

In addition to being able to earn this beautiful set if you host a party or place a large order, Stampin' Up! also have and other FREE stampset for qualifying Hosts during September and October.
