Art With Heart Team Monthly Creative Showcase for March - Card Sketch

Welcome to the Art With Heart Monthly Creative Showcase for March. Every month the talented Art With Heart Team members present projects based on a specific theme.
This month the team are using the Card Sketch below as their inspiration. A list of all the team members involved in this showcase are listed below.

I have used the new Butterfly Bijou 6"x 6" DSP pack that will be available in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue that begins in May. This paper and the coordinating stamp set are available now as a special pre order release from Stampin' Up!

I fussy cut 5 of the tiny butterflies from one of the sheets. I definitely wouldn't want to have to cut out a huge amount of these butterflies but a few was no problem. To attach the butterflies I used a Glue Dot behind their bodies and Dimensionals behind the wings to pop them up and give them some life like dimension.

The patterned paper on the bottom of the card is from the Subtle 6" x 6" DSP, but the new ones that will be in the 2021-2022 catalogue. The top section of the card was embossed using the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder.

The greeting is from the Fancy Phrases stamp set and was stamped on Smoky Slate card stock. The Magenta Madness strip below the greeting was cut using one of the Ornate Border Dies.

This card is fairly clean and simple and pretty much follows the card sketch exactly. The sketch is open to any interpretation, and will be differently by different stampers.

Check out how the Art With Heart team were inspired by this sketch by selecting the links below.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase week 39 - Purple Posy

Hello, I'm back with the AWHT Colour Creations Showcase, this week featuring the beautiful Purple Posy. Purple Posy is a lovely purple that coordinates perfectly with the other purples in our range, Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather.

This week I have chosen a new range of products available as a pre release from the up coming 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue called the Butterfly Brilliance Collection.

All of the butterflies are one big stamp, all joined together. I stamped this on Fluid 100 Water Color paper in Stazon Black.

I coloured the butterflies with inks and Water Painters. Unfortunately the Purple Posy ink pad is not longer available due to quality control issues, but I still have one I can use. The other two ink colours are Magenta Madness and Gorgeous Grapes.

I water coloured the background with very diluted Balmy Blue ink and the wide Water Painter. Once the background was dry I attached the butterflies in a line down the center with Glue Dots and Dimensionals.

The greeting was made using the Art Gallery Bundle and White Emboss Powder. I twisted a piece of the white twine from the Snail Mail pack and attached it to the back of the greeting. The background was mounted on a Basic Black mat and then onto a Purple Posy card base.
I have already had a wonderful time making cards using this collection, I'm looking forward to sharing it with my customers and class attendees.

Please contact me with any questions, I'm always happy to talk stamping and card making.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase week 38 - Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin Pie is this week's featured colour in the AWHT Colour Creations Showcase. Pumpkin Pie is not a colour that I use regularly but it is a lovely clear orange colour.

I have combined Pumpkin Pie with some of the other orange shades in our range to make my bunch of flowers.
The flowers and leaves are cut using the Pierced Blooms Dies.

I stamped the stems and some of the background leaves in Granny Apple Green ink on a Basic White Stitched Rectangle.

I had fun making this card, the hardest part was deciding which colour to make each flower. The greeting is stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink on a strip of Basic White card stock.

The final embellishment on my card was a double bow made from Linen Thread.

For more Pumpkin Pie inspiration head to Cathy's blog for a full list of tonight's participants.
