Welcome to week 36 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop. If you haven't joined us before each week the Art With Heart Team are featuring one of the beautiful Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order. This week it's time to highlight Pool Party, which is a lovely soft blue/green colour from the Subtles colour family.
Pool Party was the perfect colour to experiment with a new early release bundle from the 2022-2023 Catalogue, Waves of Inspiration Bundle. This bundle will be available to customers from the 1st of March, but one of the perks of being demonstrator is that we get to play with new products earlier.
I started with Pool Party card stock and stamped the main wave image in Versamark ink. Instead of using just one colour of Embossing Powder I used a combination of White and Clear Embossing on this image. I wanted to make sure that the white embossing powder was on the tip of the wave to highlight what should be white water, the remainder was patches of clear and white embossing powder.
After heating the embossing powder I used a Blending Brush to add Pool Party and Bermuda Bay ink over the wave image.
The ribbon under the greeting panel is the Pool Party Sheer Ribbon. The image was mounted on Bermuda Bay and the card base is Thick Basic White card stock.
It's now time to have a peek at what the very talented Rosa Leyden has to share with us. I'm looking forward to seeing her beautiful Pool Party project. Click on her name or on the graphic below.
I have great news to share with you! Due supply issues with some of the Sale-a-bration rewards Stampin' Up! has extended the finish of the promotion until the 16th of March. Place your orders before then to take advantage of FREE Sale-a-bration rewards.
Thanks for visiting and happy stamping,
Rachel
Rachel, I love this card so much - what a great tip to use the 2 different embossing powders! I especially love how having stamped on Pool Party, the wave looks like it is breaking right off the front of the card. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteGosh, this is beautiful, Rach! I love how you've used the different items in the bundle. The embossed waves (with variation), then inked, look so good. The sentiment and die-cut label are beautiful, as are the little clouds. Great card to showcase this lovely colour!
ReplyDeleteWow, O wow Rachel - such a lovely card. Your use of white & clear emboss powder over the stamped wave and blue ink added with a blending brush is all genius. I will have to give it a go when the bundle arrives. Thank you for the inspiration. Xxx
ReplyDeleteWow what a wave! Rachel I love the idea of both clear and white embossing powders and the blending of Pool Party and Bermuda Bay looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteWow Rachel you've really managed to make your wave so realistic by using the embossing powders and different inks. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteWell, that is a great idea to use the white embossing powder for the tips of the wave and clear for the other. It gives a wonderful realistic effect!
ReplyDeleteRachel, you’ve achieved such a realistic look to your wave, it’s absolutely gorgeous! Very clever. A lovely card.
