Colour Creations Blog Hop week 36 Moody Mauve Corner in Bloom

Welcome to week 36 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. This week we are featuring Moody Mauve which is one of the 2023-2025 In Colours. Unfortunately that means that Moody Mauve is one of the colours that will be leaving our range in May this year.

For tonight's card I have use one of the Sale-a-bration rewards stamp sets called Corner in Bloom. You can earn this stamp set for free with any $200 purchase during Sale-a-bration.

I stamped the largest corner image in Pebbled Path ink. I coloured the image with Blends Markers in Moody Mauve, Bubble Bath and Lost Lagoon.

I made this into a square card so that I could fit the banner cut from the Birthday Celebration Die set. I embossed the banner with the Cane Weave 3D embossing folder to add a bit of texture to my card. The greeting is also from the Birthday Celebration stamp set. I first inked the words in Versamark and then straight into the Moody Mauve ink before stamping. I sprinkled with Clear Embossing powder before heating to make the greeting shiny. I double inked the lower half of each word to make it a little darker.

Before attaching the greeting banner I used a Blending Brush to app[y some Lost Lagoon ink behind the banner. The final embellishments were a bow from Moody Mauve Jute Trim and some Petunia Pop Shimmer Gems.

Now it's time to hop over and see what my talented stamping friend Cathy Proctor has to share with us.

Cathy is also the host of our Colour Creations Blog Hops and has a complete list of tonight's participants in case there is any issues with our links.

Join us again next week when we will be featuring Mossy Meadow.

Thanks for visiting,
Rachel

  1. What a great choice, to ink up the floral sprays in Pebbled Path ink, Rachel; it complements the brownish tones of Moody Mauve beautifully. The embossed Moody Mauve sentiment, and dry-embossed banner piece, are lovely details, too.

  2. Your ombre effect on the lettering of the sentiment is fabulous, Rachel! Using the Pebbled Path ink to stamp the outline of the flowers works so well with Moody Mauve too.

  3. Beautiful layout using a square card to also showcase the corner floral stamp and nice choice of colours to complement Moody Mauve. The blended background behind the banner is a nice touch.

  4. I really like the softer look created by stamping the flowers in Pebbled Path, very nice.
