It's Wednesday again and time for another Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. Week 7 sees us feature one of our very versatile Neutral colours Basic Gray. I did think for a few minutes about trying to do a monochromatic card with Basic Gray, but it goes so nicely with so many of the other Stampin' Up! colours that I decided to use it as one of many colours instead.
As it is nearly time for the new July to Dec Mini Catalogue (that is not really mini) and the next Sale-a-bration I have lots of new stamp sets to inspire you.
When I saw these Hippos in the Sale-a-bration brochure I knew they would be a hit as they are sooooo cute. I have used the not so delicate, but really sweet ballerina Hippo on my Pull Tab Flip Card.
I mounted her in one of the frames from the Fabulous Frames Dies and then mounted this piece on to the pull tab mechanism. I am planning to write my own tutorial using the Fabulous Frame Dies, but in the meantime there are numerous tutorials on the internet.
I stamped another one of the hippos to go inside the pull tab. Both Hippos were stamped in Memento ink and coloured using the Blends Markers listed below.
My second card is the first Christmas card I am sharing with you this season. Most of the products used to make this card are available in the July to Dec Mini Catalogue that begins on the first of July. The stamp set is called Trees For Sale, and as an extra bonus there is a coordinating Die Set as one of the rewards from the upcoming Sale-a-bration promotion.
This time I have paired Basic Gray with a Polished Pink tree. The base layer of the tree is stamped in Polished Pink ink that has been stamped off once for a lighter shade. The second tree image is stamped in full strength Polished Pink ink.
The tree is framed by one of the dies in the Fabulous Frames Dies cut from Silver Foil. The background has been embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder.
The Basic Gray background has been embossed using the really cute Whimsical Wonderland 3D Embossing Folder which is in the July to Dec Mini Catalogue.
The scripty greeting is also included in the Trees For Sale stamp set.
I hope you like my Basic Gray creations, next week we will be featuring Bermuda Bay.
Now it's time to see what my fellow team members have created using Basic Gray. The next stamper along in the Blog Hop is the lovely and very clever Diane Furniss.
Don't forget to check out the Last Chance Products list to pick up some bargain priced Stampin' Up! products.
Happy stamping,
Rachel
