Hello and welcome to week 14 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. This week our featured colour is Bubble Bath. Bubble Bath recently entered our range in the last colour refresh. Bubble Bath is a lovely pale pink the is my go to colour for baby girl cards.
This week I have used Bubble Bath with the Layers of Beauty bundle to make a very special birthday card.
The stamp was coloured directly with the Stampin Write Markers so that I could stamp the flowers in Melon mambo and the leaves in Old Olive. The small daisy flowers were stamped in Azure Afternoon. I stamped on Bubble Bath card stock.
I cut the image in half so that I could have a piece of each side of the card instead of one main image in the middle.
I used a Deckled Rectangle Die to cut a rectangle to attach the flowers to. I ended up re cutting this piece from a piece of Bright and Beautiful DSP and dry embossing for a little more interest. A couple of the leaves are outside the die so that they will extend over the edge of the rectangle.
I cut the letters using the Mini Alphabet Dies from White Glimmer Paper. I coloured the letters using a Blending Brush and Melon Mambo ink. The Happy Birthday is from the Best Family Ever stamp set. I used this set regularly as it has numerous greeting that are very versatile. The card base is also Bubble Bath card stock.
Thanks for visiting,
This is a really beautiful card, Rach. I am inspired by your creative brain! LOVE that you stamped the floral images directly onto Bubble Bath card, and using direct-to-rubber with your Stampin' Write Markers. I hadn't ever thought to colour white glimmer paper, by blending ink onto it. Thanks for sharing your clever ideas!
ReplyDeleteRachel I love the effect you have created by colouring your stamp with markers and then blending through the masks. It gives your roses such a vintage vibe. I also love the coloured glimmer card - what a special birthday card!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card Rachel. I love your marker colouring of the stamp - the effect is certainly worth the effort. Also, love the way you divided the image, arranging them coming in from opposite edges. Lovely textural images too. xxx
ReplyDeleteWow !
ReplyDeleteRachel the marker to stamp technique you have used on your card looks amazing and shows that you don’t always have to use white card stock. I hadn’t even noticed the glimmer paper letters until you mentioned it…gorgeous addition!
ReplyDeleteOh Rachel, this is awesome! I’m impressed with all the little tricks you’ve used to create this gorgeous card, including stamping on Bubble Bath and the ink to rubber to colour match. The end result was well worth it.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Rachel, I have to say, the way you stamped that image using the Stampin' Write Markers is brilliant. So pretty and I also love how you diecut with the Deckled Rectangles!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card Rachel and what a great idea to use the markers for the floral outline. Would never have thought to do that yet it works fabulously.
