Colour Creations Blog Hop week 8 Balmy Blue Snowflakes

Hello stampers, welcome to week 8 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are featuring Balmy Blue, a lovely soft, pale blue.

When I was deciding about this week's project I thought that Balmy Blue was well suited to a frosty snowflakes card. Most of our current Christmas sets are only available in our online store. Check them out here. For this card I used the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set.

The largest snowflakes are stamped in Balmy Blue, the middle size are white embossed and the smallest are silver embossed.

I used a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink to add shading to the top left corner and the bottom right corner.

To add some extra sparkle to my Christmas card I used a strip of White Glimmer Paper across the top of the greeting. I love this greeting set, I was very excited that it was staying in our online store. Christmas is stamped in Balmy Blue and the Merry is embossed in silver.

I placed a Silver Foil mat behind the card front before it was adhered to the Balmy Blue card base. The final bit of sparkle on the card was some Rhinestone Jewels added to the centre of some of the snowflakes.

All of the products used here are available in my Online Store.

Please contact me with any questions, I'm always happy to chat about stamps and Stampin' Up!

Now it's time to hop over to the next stop in our Blog Hop, which belongs to my lovely stamping friend Kathryn Ruddick. Please make sure to see what all of the participants have to share for lots of Balmy Blue inspiration.

If you have any issues with the links in our hop please head to Cathy Proctor's blog as she is the fabulous host of our hops and has a complete list of tonight's participants.

Be sure to come back next week for Basic Gray inspiration.
Thanks for visiting,
Rachel

Colour Creations Blog Hop Week 6- Balmy Blue

Welcome to week 6 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2022-2023. This week we are featuring the first of our core Stampin' Up! colours, Balmy Blue. Balmy Blue is a lovely soft baby blue colour that is in our Subtles colour family.

Although the new Annual Catalogue is still fresh I decided to dig out one of my older sets for this weeks card. I chose Hydrangea Haven as I thought Balmy Blue would be perfect for the lusciously big flower heads.

I stamped the main outline image in Basic Gray, then used the solid leaf and flower head circle to fill in the outline. I stamped the flower head first in Balmy Blue and added some Highland Heather with a Sponge Dauber. The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz.

I made my beautiful bow by layering Crinkle Seam Binding that has been coloured with a Balmy Blue Blends Marker over Glittered Organdy Ribbon and then I tied the bow. The strip around the middle is a flat piece of coloured Crinkled Seam Binding over another piece of Glittered Organdy Ribbon.
I'm very pleased a had another play with this set, I seem to concentrate too much on my new stamps and forget about the older ones that are still in the catalogue.

It's now time to continue to the next step on our Blog Hop and see what the very clever Cathy Proctor has to share with us. Cathy is also the host of our Colour Creations Blog Hop so if you have any issues following the hops please head to her blog for a complete list of tonight's participants.

Thanks for visiting and happy stamping,
Rachel

Colour Creation Showcase - Week 1 Balmy Blue

Welcome to the Art With Heart Team Colour Creations Showcase. Each week we will be featuring on of the Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. The first colour we are featuring is Balmy Blue.
For my first card I have paired Balmy Blue with Petal Pink, Whisper White and Night of Navy.

The stamp set I have used is called Tasteful Touches and the coordinating dies are called Tasteful Labels.

For my second card I have paired Balmy Blue with Early Espresso, Very Vanilla and Old Olive. The DSP in the background is from the World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack.

The stamp set I used is called Beautiful World and the coordinating dies are called World Map Dies. I water coloured a piece of Watercolour paper with Balmy Blue and Old Olive and then stamped the globe in Early Espresso.

The buckle on the Faux Suede Ribbon is from the Antiqued Corners and Slides Elements.

I will be back soon with more inspiration from the new 2020-2021 Catalogue.

To see more Balmy Blue inspiration from the Art With Heart Team head to Cathy's blog for a full list of participants.

Happy stamping,
Rachel
