Colour Creations Showcase Week 12 Coastal Cabana

It's week 12 of the Colour Creations Showcase and I have two really cute cards to share with you. Each week for the last 12 weeks we have been featuring one of the Stampin' Up! colours and we are up to Coastal Cabana. The link to the next stop on the blog hop is below my projects. You can find a full list of tonight's participants on Cathy Proctors blog, the link is at the end of this post.

For my first card I used the very cute Penguin Builder Punch and a couple of our Specialty papers. The multi coloured clouds were cut from Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Basic White card stock using one of the Basic Borders Dies.

The top section of the card and the balloon are cut from the Rainbow Glimmer Paper. I used a discontinued Balloon Punch to cut the balloon.

The black section of the penguin was cut from Black Glimmer paper. He's sooooo sparkly! His white face and tummy are cut from Basic White card stock. His feet are cut from Pumpkin Pie card stock. All of these pieces were cut with the Penguin Builder Punch.

His eyes and beak are stamped in Memento Ink and Pumpkin Pie ink.

The greeting is from the Biggest Wish stamp set and was stamped in Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay ink.

The second card is one that I made for my oldest son's 22nd birthday. Unfortunately it was his second birthday in lockdown. He has decided not try and organise any more parties until his 30th birthday, hopefully the situation will have improved by then! :)

I cut angled strips of Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green card stock and added a strip of Black Glimmer paper to one side. I then layered the pieces to the front of a Basic Black card base.

The Happy Birthday was cut with a die from the Birthday Chick Dies. The 22 was cut using the Playful Alphabet and the sparkly swirl was cut using one of the Seasonal Swirls Dies.

The next stop on our blog hop is back to the start to the lovely Sharon Davern.

If you have any problems following the blog hop head to Cathy's blog for a complete list of tonight's participants.

All of the products used to make these cards are listed below along with links to my online store. Please contact me with any questions.

Happy stamping,
Rachel

  1. Rachel, I LOVE both of your cards! Oh my goodness - that sparkly little penguin is just too cute. The layered "clouds" look awesome, and I particularly like how you stamped the sentiment on the white cloud strip. Great colour combo for Bryce's card, and I really like your creative use of the "wreath" to encircle the glittery numbers. You have aced the Coastal Cabana challenge. :)

  8. I love both of your monochromatic cards Rachel but I must say that the first is super cute. I particularly like the way you have used the border dies, various shades of blue/green and the glitter paper together for your background. Great idea.
