Colour Creations Showcase week 20 Gray Granite

Welcome to week 20 of the Colour Creations Showcase featuring Gray Granite. Gray Granite is one of our Neutrals colours and is a lovely soft, warm gray.

I was very excited to crack open my new Nature's Harvest Bundle for tonight's card. I have been undecided on this bundle since I saw it in the mini catalogue and finally caved and purchased it.

For the base on the front of my card I used a piece of In Good Taste DSP that looks a bit like smooth concrete. I added extra interest by using the dots and lettering stamps from the Quiet Meadow stamp set.

The the twig, grass stems and daisy were cut from Early Espresso, Very Vanilla and Blushing Bride card stock.

With a sponge dauber and Gray Granite ink I added some shading to the daisy and the grass stems to give them an aged look.

I thought it was time to follow the trend and use some ribbon cut in half lengthwise on my card. The issue I had was that we don't have any Blushing Bride ribbon that was suitable. I really wanted ribbon like the Sheer Open Weave In Colour Ribbon. So I got my Pale Flirty Flamingo Blends Marker and a strip of Pale Papaya Ribbon and coloured it.

And wow, it was the perfect colour, and the shimmer in the sheer ribbon adds the perfect contrast to the lace and twine, also behind the greeting.

I also decorated the inside of the card with the dots and text from the Quiet Meadow stamp set.

The final touch was a few Pearl Rhinestones.
All of the products I have used to make my card are listed below.

Now it time to head over and see what my lovely friend Christine Blain has to share with us. I'm sure her amazing project will amaze you.

If you have any problems along the way please return to Catherine Proctor's blog as she has a complete list of tonight's participants.

Thanks for visiting,
Rachel

  6. Love your tips for the ribbon and they look awesome behind the sentiment. The die cut images are lovely with the sponging to age them and the background is the perfect dark, moody paper choice.

  7. Nature's Harvest is actually one of my favourites from the mini catalogue and I love how you have teamed it with the Quiet Meadow stamp set. The worn type and splatter stamps work so well with the lace to give your card a very pretty vintage vibe.
