Colour Creations Blog Hop week 13 - Cherry Cobbler Christmas Lights

Hello stampers, welcome to week 13 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop. Every Wednesday night the Art With Heart Team are featuring one of the beautiful Stampin' Up! colours in their Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are featuring Cherry Cobbler, which is a lovely deep red colour that lives in the Regals Colour Family. This colour is one of my favourite Christmas colours so I had to create a Christmas card to share with you tonight.

I stamped the large tree image in Evening Evergreen on Soft Succulent card stock and cut it out with the matching die.

I stamped some of the tinsel stamps across the tree and the star on top of the tree in Versamark ink and embossed with Gold Emboss Powder.

The background paper behind the tree is a Cherry Cobbler piece from the Festive Foils Specialty Paper Pack.

For the frame around the tree I used the largest Fabulous Frames Die and Gold Foil Paper. The card base is Evening Evergreen card stock. The greeting is stamped on Cherry Cobbler card stock and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and was cut out using one of the dies from the Brightest Glow bundle.

The final step was to add a few Festive Pearls in Cherry Cobbler and Gold.
Another card to add to my Christmas card stash, now it's time to see what Michele Taylor has to share with us.
If you have any problems following the links in our blog hop please head to Cathy Proctor's blog as she is the host of our Colour Creation hops and has a complete list of tonight's participants.

See you next week when we will be featuring Coastal Cabana.

Thanks for visiting,
Rachel

Heart of Christmas week 4 Slimline Decorated With Happiness

It's time for week 4 of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. Every Monday the Art With Heart Team are sharing Christmas inspiration with you until the end of November. Make sure you visit all of the lovely ladies blogs to see what amazing inspiration they have to share with you.

This week I have made a slimline card with the Decorated With Happiness Bundle.
The size of the card base is a piece of card stock 21cm x 21cm folded in half. I stamped six bauble images in Memento Black ink on scrap paper and then coloured them with the solid 'squiggle' images, using Polished Pink, Highland Heather, Tahitian Tide and Daffodil Delight.

The die cut branches are cut from a sheet of Granny Apple Green DSP from the 6"x6" Brights Pack.
I stamped some of the pine branches in Granny Apple Green ink in the background, under where the die cut branches are.

It's a bit hard to see in the photos but I stamped some of the tiny stars in Pool Party ink randomly around the baubles.

Now it's time to head over to Christine Blain's blog to see what amazing project she has to share with us.

If you have any problems following the links in our hop head over to Sharon Davern's blog as she is the super host of our Heart of Christmas Blog Hops and will have a complete list of tonight's participants.

Thanks for visiting and make sure you come back on Wednesday for our Colour Creations Blog Hop.

Happy stamping,

Colour Creations Blog Hop week 12 - Calypso Coral Season of Chic

Hello stampers, welcome to week 12 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. This week all of our projects will feature Calypso Coral, which is a lovely warm coral colour, as the name suggests.

This week my projects use the Potted Geranium Bundle. I'm a little late to the party with this bundle as I was trying so hard to resist it, but alas, I couldn't. This is my first play with this bundle and I have made one card that uses mainly the dies and on card that uses mainly the stamps.

These stamps and dies were straight forward to use and did not involve a huge number of small pieces to complete the flowers and leaves. I'm looking forward to using this set with my online classes especially.

The first card uses the dies in this bundle. As we are featuring Calypso Coral I cut one of each of the flower pieces from Calypso Coral. I paired the Calypso Coral flower base with Poppy Parade shading and used a Petal Pink flower base with the Calypso Coral shading  piece.

The leaves and stems are cut from Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green. The pots are two of our lovely new In Colours Starry Sky and Orchid Opulence.

The clouds are cut using on of the Basic Borders Dies. These are my absolute favourite dies, I used them so often, either for clouds like this or as a mask that I colour with Blending Brushes. A few Brushed Brass Butterflies finished the card.

For the second card I used mainly the stamps, except for cutting out the outline images of the flowers and leaves. By using the stamps the second card has a lot more detail and texture than the dies alone, but I like both options equally.
The flowers are stamped in Calypso Coral and Petal Pink ink and the leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink. The first image is stamped full strength and the second, smaller image is stamped off once.

The background behind the pot is a Deckled Rectangle that has been embossed with the In The Clouds Embossing Folder. I used a sponge Dauber and Balmy Blue ink to gently highlight the sky parts of the folder as opposed to the clouds. The brick wall below all of the pots is a piece of Crumb Cake card stock that has been embossed with the Bricks and Mortar Embossing Folder.

Both of the greetings are stamped in Calypso Coral and have been die cut with a die from the Geraniums set. This die is a very versatile size and I'm sure I will be using it regularly. Again, the final touch to this card was a few Brushed Brass Butterflies.

All of the products used to make these cards are available from my online store, the links are listed below.

Now it time to see what the next stamper has to share with us. Please head to Diane Furniss' blog by clicking on her name or on the graphic below.
