Metallic Stripy Christmas Tree

The bright sunshine in Melbourne this morning was perfect for photographing today's card. It shows the beautiful colours in the Brushed Metallic Foil papers. The three different colours, bronze, copper and gold are available in a pack together in the Aug to Dec Mini Catalogue.

I cut random long triangle strips of each colour of foil. I then attached them to a base triangle of Merry Merlot that I cut using the stitched Triangle Dies.

The background is Merry Merlot card stock that has been embossed with the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder. The star on top of the tree is Gold Brushed Metallic card stock, cut using a Stitched Star Die.

The card base is Thick Very Vanilla card stock. I prefer to use the Thick Very Vanilla and Thick Whisper White for card bases as it adds to the stability of the card where as card bases from standard Whisper White and Very Vanilla tend to be flimsy. The trunk of the tree is a small piece of wood grain paper from the In Good Taste DSP pack.

All of the products used on this card are from Stampin' Up! and are available in  my online store, the links are below.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase Week 26 - Merry Merlot

Hello, I'm back with another week of the Colour Creation Showcase. For week 26 we are featuring Merry Merlot. Merry Merlot is in the Neutrals colour family and is usually a colour I use on my Christmas cards.

For this showcase I decided use one of the pre order sets I purchased from the up coming Stampin' Up! Jan to June Mini Catalogue. The Art Gallery Bundle includes the Art Gallery stamp set and the Floral Gallery Dies. The stamp set is a two step stamp set with numerous brushstroke style images and 9 lovely greetings. The dies cut out all of the floral images and the words 'Just Want To Say'.

As I started to play with this set I decided to stamp three different level cards that would be appropriate for my beginner, casual and avid stamping customers.

This card is for my beginner stampers. I stamped the large petal stamp in Rococo Rose and then the coordinating smaller stamp in Merry Merlot. These stamps are photopolymer(clear) so that it is easy to stamp one stamp on top of the other.

The stem is stamped in Old Olive and the greeting is also stamped in Merry Merlot.

I used the same stamps and colours on my second card for casual stampers, but I added a couple of extra steps. I cut the floral image with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies and attached it to the Merry Merlot card base with Dimensionals.

The greeting was cut with one of the Floral Gallery Dies and attached on a small piece of Fine Art Ribbon, which is also in the upcoming catalogue.

For the Avid stamper card I added another few steps. Again I used the same stamps and colours for the flower. I then cut out the flower with the coordinating die.

The card base is Merry Merlot again. The first layer is a Stitched Rectangle from Pool Party card stock. The second layer is a larger Stitched Rectangle in Whisper White. I placed this piece in the matching Painted Texture 3D embossing folder that I had inked with my Pool Party ink pad. This embossing folder is also available in the Jan to June Mini Catalogue.

I applied the ink directly to the embossing folder.

The greeting was stamped in Merry Merlot and cut with one of the Floral Gallery Dies. Again I used the Fine Art Ribbon that I tied around the embossed piece.

Lots of Darling Donkeys

I have been having more fun playing with the Darling Donkeys Sale-a-bration stamp set. You can see the first card I made with this set by clicking on the photo below.

They are such happy looking donkeys and really fun to colour.

For the first card I coloured the donkeys with Blends Markers in Crumb Cake and Soft Suede and a tiny bit of Flirty Flamingo. Once they were coloured I carefully fussy cut both donkeys.

The hills were cut using one of the dies from the Quite Curvy Bundle in Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz. One the front hill I heat embossed one of the greetings from the Quite Curvy Bundle. The small 'It's your birthday' is from the Darling Donkeys stamp set.

To make the clouds I used a new tool coming in the Jan to June Mini Catalogue, Blending Brushes! Yay, I'm very excited that Stampin' Up! have added these brushes to our range. The stencil for the clouds was cut from the Happy Dies.I will be back later this week with a video to demonstrate how these brushes work.

He's such a cutey. This set is going to be very well used, I love it.

For the next card I used the third donkey from this stamp set. When I stamped the donkey on Whisper White I masked the flower so that it did not stamp because I wanted to add a balloon instead. The balloon is from the Happy Dies and was cut from Rainbow Glimmer paper, another current favourite product.

I hand drew the string for the balloon with a Black Stampin' Write Marker. This donkey was coloured with Smoky Slate Markers and a tiny bit of Flirty Flamingo for inside his ears.

The panel on the left side of the card was done using the Baby Wipe technique with Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Bermuda Bay. I coloured white Crushed Seam Binding with a Granny Apple Green Blends Marker to co ordinate with the balloon.

I hope you love this stamp set as much as I do. It is available for FREE with a $90 purchase during our Sale-a-bration sale which begins on the 5th of January.
