Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase week 37 - Pretty Peacock

Tonight the Art With Heart team are featuring Pretty Peacock in the Colour Creation Showcase. Unfortunately Pretty Peacock will be leaving our range when this annual catalogue finishes as it is one of our In Colours that has been in the range since 2019. I love this beautiful rich blue/ green colour that has been well used in the last two years.

For my card I have chosen the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle and the Gilded Leafing Embellishment.

For the background I embossed the Pretty Peacock card stock with the Seabed 3D embossing folder.

The seashells piece was cut from Sahara Sand card stock then embossed with the Seashells 3D embossing folder. This folder coordinates perfectly with the seashells die, giving dimension to each of the shells and also to the seaweed. It is very important to cut first and then emboss, otherwise if you put the embossed piece through your Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine you will press all of the dimension out and you will lose the beautiful embossed effect.

I added some extra colour the the seashells and seaweed with Sponge Daubers and Sahara Sand, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz ink.

To add the Gilded Leafing just to the seashells I used a sponge dauber to selectively add Versamark ink. Heat and Stick powder was then added and heated with the Heat Tool. Do not over heat the Heat and Stick powder or the Gilded Leafing will not stick to it. Once the Heat and Stick Powder was gently heated I placed the shells die cut in my box of Gilded Leafing and gently pressed the leafing onto the shells. I reboxed my Gilded Leafing into a much bigger box to minimise the amount of spillage and also to make it easier to apply to my pieces. Brush off the excess Gilded Leafing with a dry brush or sponge.

The seashells were attached to the background with Dimensionals. I had to cut some of the Mini Dimensionals even smaller to fit behind the pieces of seaweed.

The greeting was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink on Pool Party card stock. Before I attached the greeting with Dimensionals I added a Linen Thread bow.
I was very pleased with how this card turned out, I love Pretty Peacock and gold together and the Gilded Leafing is so shiny, the photos don't do it justice.

Thanks for visiting,
Happy stamping,
Rachel

  8. Another brave person. I am terrified of the gold leaf. ;) Your card is stunning Rachel and the gold leaf does work so well with the shells. It looks like the sunlight is shining on them.
