I'm here with the Art With Heart Team for week 3 of our Colour Creations Blog Hop featuring Starry Sky. Starry Sky is a lovely deep purple/blue colour. I REALLY enjoyed making my cards for today's blog hop, so much in fact that I have a couple of extras to show you tomorrow.
My first card for today uses the beautiful Happiness Abounds Bundle.
I coloured all of the images using the smallest Water Colour Painter. The large flowers are Starry Sky and the smaller flowers are Fresh Freesia.
All pieces were cut out using the coordinating dies. I cut two strips of the Starry Sky In Colour DSP and attached them to the background of the card base.I stamped some of the leaf images in Starry Sky on the background, around the floral image.
I added some white dots around the center of the flowers with the White Craft Ink.
The final addition was some Basic Rhinestone Jewels.
The second card I have to share with you uses the Alphabest Bundle. This bundle has an alphabet and numbers stamp set and the Best Label punch.
I stamped the 5 different label stamps randomly on the background in a brickwork pattern, in Starry Sky ink.
I stamped 5 of the open label stamps on Orchid Oasis card stock. Then stamped the letters for HAPPY on each of them and punched them out with the Best Label punch. These were attached with Dimensionals down one of the rows of labels.
I wrapped the Starry Sky Metallic Ribbon around the width of the card and heat embossed the BIRTHDAY from the Artistically Ink stamp set in White Embossing Powder.
The card front was mounted on an Orchid Oasis mat and then onto a Starry Sky card base.
Here is a little peek at the cards for tomorrow...

Now it's time to see what my wonderfully talented friend Sharon Davern has to share with us.
Thank you for visiting,

Oh wow, that first card is a real stunner! I love everything about it. The second card is pretty amazing too. -so much effort, but it looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteRachel your watercolored card is absolutely stunning and your second card is perfect too. The alphabet bundle is on my list to purchase and I am very keen to do so now I have seen your card.
ReplyDeleteJust wow, Rachel, I can tell just how much you enjoyed making these because it shows in the beauty of both pf them. The second card is so creative but I really love the colouring on your first card.
ReplyDeleteI just LOVED your first card, then thought "wow" when I saw your second one, Rach. Fabulous creations! The blooms on your first card look so beautiful watercoloured, and I love how you stamped over the DSP and onto the card base. I really love the bold design of your second card. Thanks for the inspiration. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you have shown two amazing cards that are both very different in style. To see the Starry Sky used in water colouring is interesting as it has a beautiful muted tone to it that I wasn’t expecting. I love these water coloured flowers! On the second card I love the stamped background, time consuming, yes! But the result is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards but your watercolored card has my heart. I love how you have stamped the starry sky background as well as your stellar watercolouring skills.
ReplyDeleteOh wow Rachel 2 very different but gorgeous cards. Your watercolouring on the first is just beautiful and I really love the boldness of the second one. Just don't know if I would have the patience for it tho!
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards, Rachel. Those flowers are really beautiful and the stamped leaves add a fantastic touch. The 2nd card would test the patience, but very effective!
ReplyDeleteImpossible to pick a favourite Rachel, they're both beautiful for different reasons.Might need to get the alphabet set too.
ReplyDeleteRachel your water-coloured flowers are so beautiful and love them layered with DSP over the stamped background. Love the added white dots to match the DSP too. I’m impressed how you managed to get the stamped background lined up so perfectly! Fabulous card and both so different.
ReplyDeleteSorry forgot to add my name! Rosa xo
