Heart of Christmas Blog Hop week 9 - Metallic Gold Leaves of Holly

Hello stamping friends, it's time for week 9 of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop with the Art with Heart Team.
For this week's card I stepped away from traditional Christmas colours and used a favourite combination of Gold and Night of Navy with the Leaves of Holly Bundles.

I cut three of the holly leaves and the two berry pieces from the Gold sheets from the Rose Gold and Gold 6"x6" Specialty paper. This paper has a lovely textured finish that I think looks wonderful on fairly simple, uncluttered cards.
I coloured the top berry piece very gently with my Cherry Cobbler Blends Marker so that the rough surface of the paper did not ruin the end of the marker. As the Blends Markers are Alcohol based they will dry on sealed surfaces.

I cut the greeting piece from Very Vanilla card stock and embossed Christmas Wishes in Gold Embossing Powder. For the border around the greeting I cut another greeting panel from the Gold Speciality paper and the very carefully adhered just the border over the Very Vanilla piece.

The background of the card is a piece of Night of Navy card stock, embossed with the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder. The card base is Very Vanilla Thick card stock. I always use the thick Very Vanilla and Basic White card stock for card bases as the extra thickness gives the card more stability than the standard Very Vanilla or Basic White card stock.

Now it's time to see what lovely team members have to share with us. The next in line in the blog hop is Caroline Manwaring.

If you encounter any issues with the links in our hop please head over to Sharon Davern's blog as she is the host of our Christmas hops and will have a complete list of tonight's participants.

Thanks for hopping by,
Rachel

Sale-a-bration Finishes Soon!

Urgent reminder that Sale-a-bration finishes on Wednesday the 31st of August! If you have goodies sitting in your online basket please make sure that you finalise your order before the end of the 31st.

Here's a few of the cards I've made with my favourite SAB products.

The first three cards were made using the Hippest Hippo stamp set and the co ordinating Hippo Dies which are both rewards for spending $90 on any Stampin' Up! product.

This next set of tags and cards were created using the Tree Lot Dies, which co ordinate with the Trees For Sale stamp set in the July to December Catalogue. These dies are FREE with a $180 purchase. That caravan is sooo cute, I'll be keeping this set for a while.

The final trio of cards were made with the Wonderful World stamp set and DSP bundle which is also available with a $180 purchase.

The stamped images in this stamp set co ordinate perfectly with the DSP.

Please contact me with any questions, before the 31st of August!

Happy stamping,

Rachel

Colour Creations Blog Hop week 17 - Daffodil Delight Painted Posies

Hi Stampers, it's Wednesday which means it's time for another Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. For week 17 we are featuring Daffodil Delight, a lovely bright, cheery yellow that belongs to the Brights colour family.

I decided I need some happy, spring blooms in my life, so I broke out my Painted Posies 3D Embossing Folder.

I embossed a piece of Basic White card stock and then used Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green Blends Markers to colour the embossed design.

The tiny Daffodil Delight butterflies are from the Brilliant Wings Dies. The greeting is from one of my favourite greetings sets called Go To Greeting and was stamped in Daffodil Delight ink. this was cut out using a die from the Meadow Dies set. The ribbon is White Crinkled Seam Binding that has been coloured with a Flirty Flamingo Blends Marker.

All of the products used to make this card are available from my online store, the links are listed below.

Now it's time to see what the very clever Tina Gillespie has to share with us.

If you encounter any problems with the links in tonight's hop, please head over to Cathy Proctor's blog as she is the host of this hop and has a complete list of tonight's participants.

Thanks for visiting,
Rachel

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop week 8 Trimming the Tree and Tree Trimmings Dies

Hi Stampers, Welcome to week 8 of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. This week I am excited to share with you one of the special products that will be available only for the month of September. It is one of the Perfect Partners Dies Sets that have been made to co ordinate with one of six existing stamp sets.

The Tree Trimmings Dies co ordinate with the Trimming the Tree stamp set from the Annual Catalogue.

These dies include dies to cut out the tree stamp and another to add tree branch texture to the tree, ornaments, stars, tree stands and a basket and three greeting dies. They extend the versatility of the stamp set immeasurably.

For tonight's card I stamped the tree in Evening Evergreen and the tree insert in Soft Sea Foam. I used one die to cut out the tree and another to cut out the branches on the tree, as shown below. Both layers on the card front are cut using the Deckled Rectangle Dies.

The ornaments and the star on the tree are cut from the White Glimmer paper that comes in a pack with the Real Red Glimmer paper in the July to Dec catalogue.

The basket at the base of the tree is cut from Soft Suede card stock.

I love all three of the greetings dies that are included in the Tree Trimmings Dies and the oval used here is the perfect size for this greeting.

It's time to head over to the next stop on our blog hop which belongs to Caroline Manwaring. Either click on her name or on the graphic below to go to her site.

If you encounter any issues with the links in our hop please head over to Sharon Davern's blog as she is the wonderful hostess of our Christmas Blog Hop and will have a complete list of tonight's participants.
