Heart of Christmas Blog Hop week 9 - Metallic Gold Leaves of Holly

Hello stamping friends, it's time for week 9 of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop with the Art with Heart Team.
For this week's card I stepped away from traditional Christmas colours and used a favourite combination of Gold and Night of Navy with the Leaves of Holly Bundles.

I cut three of the holly leaves and the two berry pieces from the Gold sheets from the Rose Gold and Gold 6"x6" Specialty paper. This paper has a lovely textured finish that I think looks wonderful on fairly simple, uncluttered cards.
I coloured the top berry piece very gently with my Cherry Cobbler Blends Marker so that the rough surface of the paper did not ruin the end of the marker. As the Blends Markers are Alcohol based they will dry on sealed surfaces.

I cut the greeting piece from Very Vanilla card stock and embossed Christmas Wishes in Gold Embossing Powder. For the border around the greeting I cut another greeting panel from the Gold Speciality paper and the very carefully adhered just the border over the Very Vanilla piece.

The background of the card is a piece of Night of Navy card stock, embossed with the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder. The card base is Very Vanilla Thick card stock. I always use the thick Very Vanilla and Basic White card stock for card bases as the extra thickness gives the card more stability than the standard Very Vanilla or Basic White card stock.

Now it's time to see what lovely team members have to share with us. The next in line in the blog hop is Caroline Manwaring.

If you encounter any issues with the links in our hop please head over to Sharon Davern's blog as she is the host of our Christmas hops and will have a complete list of tonight's participants.

Thanks for hopping by,
Rachel
