Colour Creations Blog Hop Week 14 - Coastal Cabana Hippest Hippos

Welcome stampers, to week 14 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. This week our featured colour is Coastal Cabana, which is a fresh green/blue colour from the Brights colour family.
For tonight's card I have used a couple of the Sale-a-bration rewards items, the Hippest Hippos stamp set and the Hippo Dies. These items are each FREE with any $90 purchase.

I started with the 'waving hippo' and stamped in Stazon ink on Shimmery White card stock.
I used my Watercolour Pencils and a Water Painter to gently colour the image. The colours I used are pictured below. I cut out the hippo with the co ordinating die.

I also used the dies to cut out a boat from Real Red card stock. I decided to add a bit of fun to  my card by adding a Wobble Spring (not Stampin' Up!) to the back of the hippo/boat piece. These are self adhesive on both sides and means that the hippo looks like he's getting a really rough ride in his boat.

On another piece of Shimmery White card stock I used the widest Water Painter to apply a a soft wash of Coastal Cabana ink for the background and then when dry I cut out the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies.

From a sheet of Coastal Cabana DSP from the 6"x6" Brights pack I cut two of the waves pieces. I layered these on the bottom of the circle, then ran the circle through the Cutting Machine again to shape the waves to fit the circle.
The Basic White card front was layered on a Coastal Cabana card base.
I hope my cute hippo has inspired you to take advantage of the Sale-a-bration specials. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Now it's time to hop over to Theresa's blog to  see what Coastal Cabana inspiration she has to share with us.
If you encounter any issues with our blog links please head to Cathy's blog as she is our wonderful host and has a complete list of tonight's participants.

We will be back same time next week to feature Crumb Cake.

Happy stamping,
Rachel
